Frost is an Elemental Effect in Halls of Torment.

Enemies afflicted with Frost store damage, and release it as Frost Waves. It is distinct from Ice Damage, which deals direct damage.

Mechanics[]

  • Frost has a lifetime of 10s.
    • If this elapses before Frost Wave triggers, all stacks are cleared without triggering Frost Wave.
  • If an attack that applies initial Frost kills the enemy, Frost Wave will not be triggered.
    • As such, it is not advisable to increase the damage of Frost sources above enemy health.
  • Frost Wave does not damage the entity it triggered from.
  • Frost Wave has the following stats:
    • Base Damage: 50 per stack.
    • Area Radius: .
      • Not affected by bonuses to Area or Range.
      • The strongest hit need not apply Frost.
      • E.g., if the strongest hit dealt 100 damage, Final Area is 2.259m.

Self-Frost[]

Self-Frost from Frost Dragon Helmet (Fangs) behaves slightly differently.

  • Frost Wave has the following stats:
    • Base Damage: 80 per stack.
    • Area Radius: .
      • Not affected by bonuses to Area or Range.
      • The strongest hit need not apply Frost.
      • E.g., if the strongest hit inflicted 100 damage, Final Area is 6.285m.

  1. Missing Elemental property, unlike Burn and Spark. The reason is unknown.
  • Damage buffs do not apply to Frost Damage.
  • Overkill damage does not count for the strongest hit.
  • Frost sources generally perform better with low Damage but high Attack Speed and Multistrike.
  • As the area of Frost Wave depends on damage dealt, it performs better on stronger enemies, thus on harder Halls or at higher Agony.
