Torment Shards are the secondary currency of Halls of Torment.

Usage

Earning

Completion: Defeating the Lord of a Hall with Torment enabled drops Torment Shards.

• Depending on the Torment Level, multiple Torment Shards may be dropped (1-4 Shards).
• Defeating multiple Lords with the Malignant Mirror rolls the drop multiple times.
• The maximum number of Torment Shards obtainable in a single round is 12, at Torment Level 30.

Spending

Stat Upgrades: Purchased from the Scriptor.

Mechanics

Each Lord is guaranteed to drop at least 1 Torment Shard. Thereafter, up to 3 additional Shards can drop with the following probabilities:

1. $\max \left(0,\min \left(1,{\frac {\text{Torment Level}}{10}}\right)\right)$
2. $\max \left(0,\min \left(1,{\frac {{\text{Torment Level}}-2}{20-2}}\right)\right)$
3. $\max \left(0,\min \left(1,{\frac {{\text{Torment Level}}-4}{30-4}}\right)\right)$

In The Vault, the Torment Level only increases by 5 at 20:00. Additional Shards can be obtained from the +1 Torment Shard Modifier.
